Barefoot Races - a long history
The century old Surf Lifesaving 90m Beach Sprint was first run in 1919. But... how does it compare to 100m Track times on Mondo/rubber OR Grass? After over 100 years, we are about to find out. A 100m Beach Sprint SLAM provides a pathway for the best of World Athletics to be able to win a Track Slam (Mondo, Grass, Sand Triple).

2) $500 Rabbit Run: 100m with headstarts
Not an elite sprinter but still want to run. We've got your back!
The Rabbit Run...
- Opportunity to clock your 100m PB on sand! OR...
- Give your mates/kids (rabbits) a headstart and run them down over 100m. Great family fun.
$500 Lucky Door Prize for one lucky Rabbit Run participant.
- Prize drawn after Male 100m Gold Coast Sand Slam Final at 4:10pm
- Must claim within 5min of draw, or redraw will take place. For second redraw, again, 5min to claim and so forth.

Protect, Hunt, Survive.
Witness the fastest Tribes on Sand, as Australia v Japan v America v NZ do battle.
Top Gun Tribes is a teams variant of the 1946 Beach Flags Surf Lifesaving sport. The top point scoring team wins the event. Every getup counts. To win the event, top guns MUST protect their teammate, and eliminate rivals.

Expression of Interest Female Top Gun Tribes - Calling for Expressions of Interest from Surf Clubs/Organisations around Australia who are interested in hosting a Club v Club Female Top Gun Tribes later in the season. Unfortunately with high school exams, overseas holidays, weddings, etc, many Top females flaggers were unavailable for Tournament on the 29th October this year.

Based on Australia’s Gold Coast, Viking Athletics was founded in 2009 by former Stawell Gift winner and multiple World and Australian Beach Sprint Champion Brett Robinson in 2009.
Viking Athletics has helped deliver some of Australia’s fastest men and women, including national 100m medallists, Australian and New Zealand Relay (4 x 100, 4 x 400) Representatives, four Stawell Gift Winners, International Life Saving Representatives and dozens of World and National Life Saving medallists.
Kraken Athletics
Kraken Athletics is based at the spiritual home of beach sprinting - Kurrawa Beach. Led by head coach and multiple Australia Champion Ryan Hoffman. Ryan Hoffman boasts an impressive competitive career, including multiple Australian Beach Sprint Titles.
As a coach, he's guided athletes to over 20 Gold Australian individual medals, secured 6 Australian Beach Relay Titles. Off the beach, Ryan' athletes have achieved successes Stawell Gift titles, and represented Australian in Track and Field. Trained by world-renowned coaches in the USA, Ryan has adapted cutting-edge training methods into his coaching in Australia.

Based in Tweed Heads, Callum Taylor boasts an impressive track record of cultivating national champions and molding athletes into world-class performers.
Having conquered the world stage as a 5 time World Champion in beach sprinting, Callum has also served as a sprint trainer for esteemed sports teams such as the ACT Brumbies, North Sydney Bears, Penrith Panthers, West Tigers, Bondi SLSC, and the Australian Wallabies.
